Flying to Edinburgh
Edinburgh International Airport is 12 kilometres (8 miles) from the city centre.  There are frequent direct flights from most UK airports, over 30 European destinations and North America.  There are frequent bus links to the city centre and a good supply of taxis.  There is also a new tram system running from the airport to the city centre - http://www.edinburghtrams.com/

It is also practical to fly into Glasgow Airport, which offers further flight options. It takes approximately 2 hours to travel from Glasgow Airport to Edinburgh city centre by public transport.

Please note that for international delegates, it may be more convenient and cost effective to fly into cities such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Paris to get a connecting flight to Edinburgh, rather than flying into London Heathrow.

Travel by Train
Waverley Station is situated in the centre of Edinburgh and is well served by the rail network. Rail travel from central London takes approximately 5 hours.  Comprehensive train connections are also available from other major cities in the UK.

Travel by Road
Edinburgh is at the heart of the UK road network.  Driving time from London, via the M1 and the M6 motorways, takes approximately 8 hours.

Long-distance day or night coaches also offer services to Edinburgh from central London and other major UK cities.
